BREAKING NEWS! – Woodstock Folk Festival to premier its first online concert Sunday afternoon, April 5, 2 pm

The Woodstock Folk Festival will premier its first online concert on Sunday afternoon, April 5 at 2 pm/CDT HERE.

If you miss this online concert on April 5, it will be available at a later date in the Video Gallery section of our website through the top menu tab.

Due to the pandemic, this is a revised version of our “Power of Song” concert commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in the U.S., the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, the 50th Anniversary of the Student Strike of 1970, and the role music played in all of those movements.

A couple of our originally scheduled performers (Lia Nicine McCoo and Chris McIntosh and Alvin McGovern) could not participate, but five of our original performers (Tricia Alexander, Mark Dvorak, Kristin Lems, Heather Styka, and Les Urban) will perform as well as special guests Small Potatoes (Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso).

Our musicians will perform original songs, in some cases directly related to those movements and in other cases in the same spirit but focused on some contemporary issues. They will show the “Power of Song” to provoke you, to move you, and to bring us together.

Please support the July 19 summer Festival, which we still hope to present, by donating via the PayPal Donation Button in the right column of every page of our website,

We also urge you to support these musicians, whose gigs have been cancelled. They took the time to provide these videos and upload them. Please support them now via their own websites listed below:

Thanks to all who made this event possible: Leslie Cook, Rich Prezioso, George Muligano, our Vice President Mary Sherman, and other members of the Festival Board, Denice Beck, Dorothy Biris, Mike Breen, Betsy Ducote, Caroline Nemoda, Julie Roberts, Mary Sherman, and Jim Young.

Join us on Sunday, donate to the Festival and the musicians, and don’t forget – cherish the “Power of Song” and take it out into the world!

Carol Obertubbesing, President
