The Woodstock Folk Festival is delighted to present the 9th Annual Invitational Concert titled “The Power of Song,” Sunday, April 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm — reworked for an online format.
This program celebrates the power of music to promote social change. We will commemorate The 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage, the 50th Anniversaries of Earth Day and the Student Strike of 1970, and the role music played in these movements. Performers include Tricia Alexander, Mark Dvorak, Kristin Lems, Lia Nicine McCoo, Chris McIntosh & Alvin McGovern, Heather Styka, and Les Urban. Refreshments will be served. There will also be a CD release party at intermission for Mark Dvorak, “Let Love Go On,” his 18th recorded release.
Suggested donation for “The Power of Song” concert is $15.00. Reservations are encouraged but not required. For reservations, call 815-353-5696.
Funds raised will benefit the 35th Annual Woodstock Folk Festival, taking place on Sunday, July 19, 2020 on the Historic Woodstock Square. The Festival’s Main Stage features some of the finest talent in folk music, including the Award recipient, folk/cabaret singer/songwriter and actress Megon McDonough. The Festival also offers an Open Mic Stage, Workshop, and Children’s Area.
