It will remain in our Gallery after the show if you would like to see it again or share it with others. You can enjoy watching our past performers’ shows by clicking on our Video Gallery. \n\n\n\nFeatured Performer: Claudia Schmidt \n\n\n\n\n\nIf it were the intention of the creator or creators of this universe to perfectly blend together the night sky with moon and stars\, it might have been their intention as well to deliver Claudia Schmidt as their messenger of reminder. \n\n\n\nTo say that Schmidt is simply a performer with a talent to entertain would be an understatement. Schmidt takes her audiences into her world as easily as the child who discovers the endless universes that exist in a cardboard box. We are delighted that she is performing for Woodstock Wednesdays. The peace and gratitude that she conveys in her music is truly a gift we can be thankful for this week. \n\n\n\nFrom lying on sandy beaches under an endless barrage of northern lights\, to the expected anguish and frustration of spinning tires on cars stuck deep in snow\, from the age-old struggle of change between adolescence and adulthood to the observation of sheer idiocy\, she leaves it to the imagination of her audience to conjure their own images of her storytelling and song. No interpretation of a Claudia Schmidt song or story is wrong — she invites audiences to tie their associations to her style. \n\n\n\nAbout Claudia and her connection to Woodstock Folk Festival \n\n\n\nWe have followed and supported her from the beginning and throughout her career. She performed at our festival as recently as 2011. She is recognized as an acclaimed artist and was recently on the “Wisdom of the Elders” panel at a recent FARM (Folk Alliance Region Midwest) conference. \n\n\n\nSchmidt weaves her way through her concert in much the same manner as a jester. Interwoven anecdotes\, revealing her past and present\, bring people to expect a relationship between themselves and memories driven deep with the passage of time. The concert is an endless display of self-realization through humor and longing\, leaving audience members yearning to become an integral part of her world. In addition to doing both folk and jazz\, Claudia also does theater and poetry. Aside from her own work\, Claudia has worked with follow artists such as Michael P. Smith and Sally Rogers. Claudia Schmidt performing live. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Schmidt is a one-woman revitalization movement. Schmidt is the best at what she does.” ~ The Tribune (Oakland\, Ca.) \n\n\n\n“Claudia Schmidt is a true artist-she has talent AND the fire of genius.” ~ The Boston Globe \n\n\n\nWe know you will enjoy Claudia’s show. \n\n\n\nViews expressed by performers and others who appear at Woodstock Folk Festival events or on the website are solely the views of these individuals and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Festival or its Board members. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n Like this:Like Loading…

It will remain in our Gallery after the show if you would like to see it again or share it with others. You can enjoy watching our past performers’ shows by clicking on our Video Gallery. \n\n\n\nFeatured Performer: Kristin Lems\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKristin sang three powerful songs as part of our “Power of Song” concert in April. Go to our Gallery to hear her sing “Ballad of the ERA”\, “Life Has Other Plans”\, and “We Will Never Give Up”. Kristin’s website \, kristinlems.com\, contains videos that will entertain and move you while you are waiting to view her Woodstock Wednesdays video. \n\n\n\nKristin Lems is a versatile composer\, performing songwriter\, folksinger and playwright from Evanston\, Illinois\, USA.  Born to an acclaimed concert pianist mother and musical Dutch immigrant father\, Kristin studied music from an early age\, singing in choruses and playing in orchestras.  \n\n\n\nAs a teenager\, Kristin picked up the guitar\, like many others\, and wholeheartedly raised her voice as part of the movement to make a better world. With guitar in arms\, Kristin brought her upbeat musical stage presence to nationwide events for the ERA and women’s rights\, safe energy\, peace\, racial equality\, and other pressing causes. \n\n\n\nLIVE PERFORMANCES \n\n\n\nEqually at home before vast crowds or in small living rooms\, Kristin Lems has shared the stage with two First Ladies\, Maya Angelou\, Captain Jacques Cousteau\, Gloria Steinem\, Helen Caldicott and Alan Alda. She’s performed on stage with Pete Seeger\, Tom Morello\, Malvina Reynolds\, Holly Near\, Dan Fogelberg\, Laura Love\, Koko Taylor\, Peter Paul and Mary\, Michele Shocked\, the BoDeans\, Simon Townshend and others. New Yorker magazine called Kristin “a charmer in the most literal and least artificial sense of the word.” Gloria Steinem named Kristin “a one woman argument against the notion that the women’s movement doesn’t have a sense of humor.” The Illinois Times said\, “Kristin not only has a beautiful voice\, clear\, crisp and forceful\, but she is a very creative and thoughtful lyricist.” And of Kristin’s performances\, The Evansville Courier said\, “the performance was simple yet substantive\, humorous\, yet poignant\, and always energetic and warm.” [more reviews at the ‘Press’ tab] \n\n\n\nTHE SONGS \n\n\n\nKristin’s songs have been covered by Butch Hancock and Marcie LaCouture\, Anne Feeney\, Pilshaw and Sklamberg\, Lucha\, Margaret Roadknight\, Katzberg and Snyder\, Voices\, The Los Angeles Women’s Community Chorus\, and several choirs. Her songs are included in the Smithsonian/Folkways anthologies The Best of Broadside (2001) and the Social Power of Music (2019). Her 1979 song\, How Nice! an early recorded song supporting marriage equality\, was in Marching for Freedom\, a video of the 1993 March on Washington\, and her songs are included in Radical Harmonies\, about the women’s music movement\, and The Equal Rights Amendment:  Unfinished Business for the Constitution.  Her original song “The Heritage of Farming\,” was commissioned by the Illinois Farm Bureau as a theme song for a video which won a “Cindy” Award\, which the producers credited to the song.  Find her songs on ITunes\, Spotify\, Amazon\, Pandora\, or on YouTube\, or on Hostbaby\, which distributes her catalog. \n\n\n\nAWARDS \n\n\n\nAwards include the “Woman of Illinois Repute” of the Illinois Women’s Agenda\, the President’s Award of Illinois NOW\, the Humanist Heroine Award of the American Humanist Association\, the Freethought Heroine Award of the Freedom from Religion Foundation\, and the Founder’s Award of the Women in the Arts Foundation\, for founding the National Women’s Music Festival. In 2014\, she received  the Dr. Mohammed Mossadegh Servant Leadership Award at Northeastern Illinois University for “lifetime contributions as a humanitarian singer and songwriter.”    \n\n\n\nShe has been interviewed by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and Veteran Feminists of America\, which are conducting oral history projects about the Equal Rights Amendment and the second wave feminist movement. \n\n\n\nOutside of music\, Kristin’s early talent in writing and academics resulted in a first place writing award from Scholastic Magazines\, a National Merit Scholarship\, and a Hopwood Award for poetry from the University of Michigan.  Kristin has also twice been a Fulbright Scholar. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKristin has performed at conferences and music festivals\, for tributes and rites of passage\, at libraries\, senior centers\, preschools\, and in the classroom\, as part of her work as an ESL teacher and teacher trainer.  She has written a musical play about the life of Jane Addams\, who was a direct and dramatic part of her own family’s Chicago history. Kristin enjoys a wide variety of musical activities\, but most of all\, she enjoys singing for those working for a greener\, fairer\, and more peaceful world.  \n\n\n\nGo to kristinlems.com to purchase CDs to show your appreciation for Kristin’s performance. \n\n\n\nWe know you will enjoy Kristin’s show! \n\n\n\nDonations\n\n\n\nTo donate to the Woodstock Folk Festival\, go to the donation box near the top right column on our website. \n\n\n\nViews expressed by performers and others who appear at Woodstock Folk Festival events or on the website are solely the views of these individuals and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Festival or its Board members. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n Like this:Like Loading…

That’s the story of Cielito Lindo\, one of Chicago’s very own. Cielito Lindo has been entertaining Chicago for the last 2 years from private parties to a Bulls game. This family of 9 has wowed anyone who listens to it’s wonderful talent. ” ~ Ana Belaval\, WGN News “Esta agrupación familiar se destaca por mantener vigente la música regional mexicana. Juan Lucero y sus siete hijos se encargan de enaltecer el patrimonio cultural propio de sus raíces hispanas.” ~ Jesse Echeverria\, Univision Chicago \n\n\n\n“The whole family has impressive singing and musical abilities and they performed a really nicely balanced set that included traditional songs as well as familiar favorites such as La Bamba. They really had the audience dancing and moving and they grabbed the attention of people who were just passing by. I appreciated that they were so engaging with the audience and spoke to parents about the importance of exploring the arts at home and how it’s impacted their family. Aside from their really fun and memorable musical performance\, the whole family was just great to work with. SUMMARY:Woodstock Wednesdays | Tim Grimm | Online Concerts
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Woodstock Wednesdays! Woodstock Folk Festival is excited to bring high quality music to our community and to enjoy and support performers who have worked with us over the years. If you are not on our mailing list\, please sign up using the Mailing List signup in the right column of our website. \n\n\n\nThe Video premieres HERE at 7pm/CDT Wednesday\, September 2. It will remain in our Gallery after the show if you would like to see it again or share it with others. Tim’s songs will touch your heart. Watch Tim’s YouTube channel to see and hear more of Tim’s music including WOODY’S LANDLORD\, performed by “The Family Band”. \n\n\n\nFeatured Performer: Tim Grimm\n\n\n\nTim will also be performing at the Fox Valley Folklore Festival\, September 5 – 7. Tim will close the Saturday night Mainstage performance (at roughly 7:30 pm).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTim Grimm is a bit of a Renaissance man in the performing arts world. He has for the past 20 years\, blended his love for songwriting\, travel\, and the storytelling of acting (theatre\, film and television). \n\n\n\nTim’s most recent recording- HEART LAND AGAIN revisits a renowned collection of songs from 20 years ago…. A STRANGER IN THIS TIME (2017)\, is a collaboration with his wife\, Jan\,and sons Connor and Jackson– the “Family Band”. In the Fall of 2016 this same group recorded the single- WOODY’S LANDLORD– which was the #1 song on Folk Radio for the year. \n\n\n\nTim’s previous recording\, THE TURNING POINT\, produced the #1 song on Folk radio in 2014– KING OF THE FOLKSINGERS. It was a particularly gratifying honor\, given the song is a tribute to Tim’s friend and musical icon\, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. Tim’s history with Ramblin’ Jack goes back 30 years– beginning with a bicycle ride that led to The Newport Folk Festival…. Tim contributing liner notes to Jack’s Grammy winning album\, The South Coast (1995)… Jack’s recording Buffalo Skinners with Tim on Tim’s album\, Coyote’s Dream (2003)….and now\, most recently KING OF THE FOLKSINGERS.After college (Earlham)\, Grimm pursed an MFA in Theatre at The University of Michigan and from there worked in Regional Theatre\, settling in Chicago. In Chicago\, in addition to his theatre work\, he studied briefly at the Old Town School of Folk Music and began writing songs and performing. He put together a band\, Tim Grimm and The True Hearts and released 2 cds–True Heart\, Kind Mind and Broken Down Palace. \n\n\n\nAt that point\, “Hollywood called\,” and Tim put down his guitar and pen\, and didn’t really pick them up for close to 10 years. After several years (1990s) working in Los Angeles (where he co-starred for 2 seasons on the NBC drama Reasonable Doubts\, worked on Clear and Present Danger with Harrison Ford\,  and appeared in several films and tv projects)\, Tim returned home to Indiana.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTim grew up in the woods and small town settings of southern Indiana\, son of schoolteachers and grandson of farmers\, and his return home was a conscious choice to live a life of significance rather than one of “success’.  He now lives with his wife on  80 acres close to where he grew up. \n\n\n\nTim’s songs are full of the rural rumblings that have shaped his life—rich with descriptive details\, and sung with warmth and intimacy—recognizing the inextinguishable national romance with the idea of the family farm and the vanishing landscape of rural America.  He released the album\, HEART LAND in 2000\, and on the strength of that recording\, was named 2000’s “BEST DISCOVERY in Roots/Americana Music” by The Chicago Sun-Times. His albums COYOTES DREAM and NAMES\, led to his being named “2004 MALE ARTIST of The Year” by the Freeform American Roots DJs. \n\n\n\nHe has released 10 solo albums since 2000 (including the newest- THE TURNING POINT)\, and 2 collaborations- AMBER WAVES (with Jason Wilber) and WILDERNESS PLOTS. \n\n\n\nIn 2005\, Grimm was asked to compose music and act in a production of THE GRAPES OF WRATH at Indiana Repertory Theatre and Syracuse Stage in New York. His song from the play–THE PEOPLES HIGHWAY\, made it onto his next album\, THE BACK FIELDS\, which was subsequently named Americana Album of the Year by the Just Plain Folks Music Awards– the world’s largest independent music awards. \n\n\n\nIn 2007\, Grimm put together a concept cd with several of the Midwest’s finest songwriter’s— Krista Detor\, Carrie Newcomer\, Tom Roznowski\, and Michael White. The recording\, Wilderness Plots\, was drawn from the short stories of noted author\, Scott Russell Sanders\, and explored the settling of the American Wilderness in the Ohio River Valley Region between The Revolutionary War and The Civil War. Two PBS programs have explored Wilderness Plots– the first\, a documentary on the story and song\, and the second a full Wilderness Plots- In Concert (2012). Produced by WTIU in Bloomington\, IN\, both productions were nominated for EMMY AWARDS. Tim continued to write songs based on Sander’s writings and released the album\, WILDERNESS SONGS AND BAD MAN BALLADS in 2011. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTim has worked with Inishfree Tours for the past several years\, bringing Americans\, Dutch and Germans to the Emerald Isle for 9 days and nights of music\, and day trips exploring 3 select Counties. Guests who have traveled with Tim encouraged him to lead groups elsewhere\, and this has led to the annual- Turning Point Tour of The Netherlands\, and and the creation of Beyond The Tartan Tours of Scotland. \n\n\n\nTim continues to be active in Regional Theatre as well– most recently in the Bicentennial production for this home state- FINDING HOME: Indiana at 200\, for which he wrote an album’s worth of music\, and appeared for 6 weeks onstage — as actor and with the Family Band. \n\n\n\n“I scheduled Tim so that we can help promote the virtual Fox Valley Festival on September 5 – 7 (Saturday\, Sunday\, and Monday). Please support Tim Grimm and the Fox Valley Festival. More info is at FVFS.org. It will be live streamed to Facebook and YouTube. Juel Ulven\, founder and director of the Fox Valley Festival was the recipient of our WFF “Woody” Award last year. Tim performed at our Woodstock Folk Festival in 2012. I have traveled with Tim to both the Netherlands and Scotland and his tours are outstanding.” ~~ Carol Obertubbesing\, Woodstock Folk Festival President \n\n\n\nDonations\n\n\n\nPlease visit timgrimm.com to purchase CDs and to learn about the amazing trips that will be scheduled by Tim at some future time. DESCRIPTION:Woodstock Wednesdays | Tret Fure\n\n\nArt by Mary Sherman\n\nJoin us weekly for Woodstock Wednesdays! Woodstock Folk Festival is excited to bring high quality music to our community and to enjoy and support performers who have worked with us over the years. If you are not on our mailing list\, please sign up using the Mailing List signup in the right column of our website. \n\nThe Video premieres HERE at 7pm/CDT Wednesday\, August 26. It will remain in our Gallery after the show if you would like to see it again or share it with others. Tret’s video is part of our celebration of the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in the U.S \n\nFeatured Performer: Tret Fure\n\n\n\nTret Fure played at the Woodstock Folk Festival’s 2015 International Women’s Day spring benefit concert and the 2016 Festival. She was featured in the All-Sing Finale of the Woodstock Folk Festival – Reimagined. \nTret began her career at the age of 16\, singing in coffeehouses and campuses in the Midwest. At 19\, she moved to LA in hopes of obtaining a record deal. Within a year she was performing as guitarist and vocalist for Spencer Davis\, touring with him and penning the single for his album Mousetrap. She went on to record her own album in 1973 on MCA/UNI Records\, with the late Lowell George of Little Feat as her producer. With the success of that release\, she opened for such bands as Yes\, Poco\, and the Geils Band. \nA prolific artist in the contemporary singer-songwriter arena\, Tret has released 16 albums and CDs over the course of her 48 year career. In addition to being a gifted songwriter\, she has engineered and produced countless recordings by a variety of artists\, including her own work. \nIn the early 80s\, Tret moved to the independent side of the industry discovering the blossoming genre known as Women’s Music. She recorded with and produced some of the best of women’s music including the legendary Meg & Cris at Carnegie Hall (1983). She worked as a duo with Cris Williamson throughout the 90s\, producing\, engineering and releasing 3 CDs together. \nNow after 8 acoustic releases on her own label\, Tomboy girl Records\, she has re-established herself in the folk world\, winning the South Florida Folk Festival Singer/Songwriter Competition in 2 out of 3 categories.\, Best Overall and Best Up-Tempo Song. as well as the prestigious Jane Schliessman Award for Outstanding Contributions to Women’s Music. In 2009\, Tret was voted Pride In The Arts Favorite Female/Lesbian Musician. In the same year she received the Janine C. Rae Award for her work in Women’s Music. She is also the #1 folk artist for Reverbnation in Newport News\, VA. In 2017\, Tret took 2nd place in the Musicians United to Protect Bristol Bay songwriting contest for her song The Fishermen of Bristol Bay. \nHer acclaimed solo releases include Tret Fure (1973)\, Terminal Hold (1984)\, Edges of the Hear (1986)\, Time Turns the Moon (1990)\, Back Home (2001) which took both album of the year and single of the year awards for 2001 from OutVoice Top 40\, My Shoes (2003) in which Sing Out! Magazine says\, “Fure’s new solo venture signals her intent to do more than just move on. This album soars…She has never sounded better…This mature effort surely ranks among Fure’s finest works and will be savored by old-time fans and new fans alike.” \nAnd there are more: Anytime Anywhere (2005) and True Compass (2007) both beautiful collections of songs of love and passion\, The Horizon (2010)\, A Piece of the Sky (2013) and Rembrandt Afternoons (2015) which was chosen by the acclaimed folk music show Midnight Special as their album of the week and was in heavy rotation on folk shows around the country. Her song Freedom has been arranged for chorale groups and is being performed widely around the country. \nNow Tret has released a stunning collection of songs on her latest release Roses in November (2018). Roses in November has been on the Folk DJ charts for the past 6 months. Her song Lessons From Home Plate was the #1 song in the month of June\, with the album at #4 and she was the #2 artist. In November\, the title song was #7. Wanda A. Fischer from WMAC Northeast Public Radio has this to say\, Roses in November is yet another masterpiece from Tret. Exceptionally crafted songs delivered with passion\, conviction and\, yes\, soul. Tret weaves magic both in the lyrics and between the lines. This will certainly be on my “Best of 2018” list. \n\n\n\nFure also markets of her own line of clothing named after her popular song Tomboy Girl. In addition\, Tret teaches guitar and songwriting individually and in workshop settings. She paints pet portraits on commission and\, an accomplished cook\, Fure has also published a cookbook\, Tret’s Kitchen\, featuring her own recipes. Along with bridging the marketing\, production\, music and art worlds\, Tret served for 6 years as President of Local 1000\, The Traveling Musicians Association–a union geared toward helping traveling musicians find security and longevity. \nTret is truly a Renaissance Woman! \n\nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n Like this:Like Loading…

We are excited to present Woodstock Wednesdays\, a way to bring the best in folk music to our community and to enjoy and support performers who have worked with us over the years.\n\n\nThe video premieres HERE at 7pm/CDT Wednesday\, July 29. It will remain in our Gallery after the show. \n\nWe know you’ll want to get all the information about who’s performing and how to see the show. He was so popular that he was invited back to do a guitar workshop and concert. Off Square Music booked Jack to perform in August\, 2018. We look forward to a time when we can see and hear Jack in person. \nJack Williams\, a South Carolina-born artist\, is celebrated by the contemporary U.S. folk community as a singer/songwriter of national stature and an uncommonly unique guitarist whom Sing Out! Magazine describes as “one of the strongest guitarists in contemporary folk.”  \nUntil COVID-19\, Jack had continued to tour the U.S. constantly out of the sheer love of music and performing. Williams has added extremely successful tours of England\, Scotland\, Switzerland\, Germany\, Liechtenstein\, France and Austria to his list of recent performances at festivals\, house concerts and major folk venues. A featured performer on the Philadelphia and Kerrville (TX) main stages\, Jack has also appeared on the New Bedford (MA) Summerfest and Boston Folk Festival stages. \nIn addition to his successful solo career\, Jack’s credits include guitar work with legendary singer/songwriters Mickey Newbury\, Harry Nilsson\, Tom Paxton\, Peter Yarrow\, and Steve Gillette\, among others. He currently has a DVD (High Cotton) and seven CDs of original songs on Wind River / Folk Era Records: “Bound for Glory – Live\,” “Laughing in the Face of the Blues\,” “WALKIN’ DREAMS\,” “LIVE & In Good Company\,” “Eternity & Main\,” “Across the Winterline\,” and “Dreams of the Song Dog.” His CD “Don’t Let Go” is a collection of cover songs reflecting the major influences on his musical development. \nWilliams’ music is born at the meeting ground of the traditional and the contemporary – original Southern-American songwriting and performance at its best\, drawing deeply from the eclectic well of our musical heritage. Jack’s fusion of guitar\, voice and songs – which are loaded with delightful influences from his career in jazz\, classical\, rock\, blues\, country and folk – should not be missed. \n“…[Jack Williams’] artistry… is nothing short of amazing. Dazzling picking\, expressive voice\, unique and interesting songs.” ~ Rich Warren\, WFMT “Midnight Special” \n“…soulful singer and a superb guitarist…” ~ Dick Weissman\, Folk Musician\, in his book “Which Side Are You On” \nAnd legendary singer/songwriter\, Mickey Newbury added\,\n“Jack and his music are an American treasure.” \nFor further information\, please see Jack’s website at www. A frequent performer at such venerable festivals as Philadelphia Folk Festival\, Spring Gulch\, Huntington\, DelMarVa Folk Festival\, and music venues around the country\, Cary’s message of unity and the power of raising our voices together infuses every show\, and her song\, “Sing Louder”\, has become an anthem for the music-loving community. If you’re not on our mailing list\, please sign up using the Mailing List signup in the right column of our website.\nFeaturing Lee Murdock\n\n\n\nLee Murdock has uncovered a boundless body of music and stories in the Great Lakes. Taking snapshots from history\, his songs summon the listener to take a front-row seat\, to look through the eyes and into the hearts of individuals who have shaped our heritage on and around the Great Lakes. His concerts invoke a sense of place\, but it is a universal place\, and a timeless repertoire that celebrates the North American people\, their triumphs and tragedies\, work songs and pastimes.\nNoted as a fluent instrumentalist on six and twelve string guitars\, Murdock combines ragtime\, Irish\, blues and folk styles with this flair for storytelling in songs. His musical influences span fifteen generations\, and combine original compositions with traditional music.\nThere is an amazing timelessness in this music. Great Lakes songs are made of hard word\, hard living\, ships that go down and ships that come in.\n“I’m interested in trying to find the life in these songs; in making music that’s exciting to people today. I am looking for the songs and the interesting stories\, not only for the people who already enjoy folk music\, but for those who think they don’t like folk music.” Lee Murdock\nLee and Joann Murdock were the recipients of the 2011 Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award.\nJoann Murdock founded the booking agency\, Artists of Note\, in 1984\, and for more than three decades she has been a dedicated and full-time supporter of the folk arts. In addition to the agency\, Joann is a founding member and former Treasurer/Board Member of the Folk Alliance International\, and she volunteers her time for many other organizations dedicated to folk music. Not a music maker\, Joann plays the computer keyboards and in her spare time she works at fiber arts.\nWhat people are saying about Lee.\n“ … bringing a fresh musical sound to the Great Lakes. Not only is he a recording artist\, he’s a historian … he has given the Great Lakes the limelight using authentic Great Lakes source material\, of the past and the present\, as the basis for his music.”— Richard Palmer\, in Inland Seas\, the Quarterly Journal of the Great Lakes Historical Society (Toledo OH)\n“The premier interpreter of songs and tales about the Great Lakes … Murdock’s regionalist approach does the area proud.”— Paul-Emile Comeau\, Dirty Linen Magazine\n“Your program was our highest attended program or event to date. Our patrons have been raving about your concert! Songs of the great Lakes was entertaining\, educational and pure joy!”— St Charles IL Public Library\nDonations\nPlease visit performer websites to purchase their CDs and other merchandise and to donate to them.
