The 36th Annual Woodstock Folk Festival 2021 | Volunteer Request | A Big Thank You to Our Woodstock Wednesdays Team

Message from Woodstock Folk Festival President Carol Obertubbesing

Thank you Woodstock Folk Festival Volunteers 2020-2021

The 36th Annual Woodstock Folk Festival 2021 is on for Sunday, July 18, 2021 - this year once again VIRTUAL!
The Woodstock Folk Festival 2021 is on for Sunday, July 18, 2021 – this year once again VIRTUAL!

The Woodstock Folk Festival 2021 is coming right up — but first, a BIG thank you to our 2020-21 Volunteers!

The Festival ends its Woodstock Wednesdays series on a high note with an hour-long concert by Chicago-based but internationally renowned Sones de Mexico.  They present a musical journey through the regions of Mexico.  We encourage you to celebrate Cinco de Mayo by cooking your favorite Mexican dishes or getting food from your favorite family-owned Mexican restaurant and then eat while enjoying the great Mexican music at home – a safe holiday celebration.  The show will premiere at 7 p.m./CDT on Wednesday, May 5, then remain available in the Video Gallery on this website.

Please join me in thanking our Woodstock Wednesdays team: Board members Mike Breen, Julie Roberts, and Mary Sherman and volunteers Leslie Cook, Steve Mikus, Annemarie Serra, and Joel Simpson.  Leslie and Mary established the systems for each week’s episode and Mary oversaw the work of all the volunteers.  This effort would not have happened without them.  Each of the others helped in different ways for some or all of the series.  For the past 10 months they have worked hard to produce and promote a new episode each week, even while coping with their own pandemic stress.  We also thank all of our performers who gave us such memorable performances during one of the most difficult periods in history.  Thanks to all of you who helped promote and support these efforts.  When it is safe to attend in-person events again, please attend concerts and continue to support performers.

Looking Toward July and this year’s Festival

After May 5, the Festival Board will focus its energy on the summer Festival to be held on Sunday, July 18, beginning at 1 p.m.  Due to continuing concerns about Covid-19 and considering the health and safety of audience members and performers, the Board has decided to do a virtual Festival again this year.  Performers will include Ashley & Simpson, Meghan Cary, Cielito Lindo Family Band, Fendrick & Peck, Joe Jencks, Pete Morton, Katherine Rondeau, and Jon Shain and FJ Ventre.  More details will be posted on this website as we proceed.

If you would like to volunteer to help in one of the following areas, please contact Carol at info@woodstockfolkfestival.org.

  • Management of website (WordPress experience helpful)
  • Coordination of social media posts
  • Design and preparation of promotional materials
  • Solicitation and coordination of advertising on our website
  • Management of our MailChimp and other mailing lists

Please continue to support our Woodstock Wednesdays performers by going to their websites (all previous posts and videos are still available) and watching their online concerts, joining their Patreon platforms, buying their CDs, and/or donating to them.

Help us bring you a great 36th Annual Woodstock Folk Festival by donating to the Festival with the button in the right-hand column.  Most of all, please be sure to join us on Sunday, July 18 for a wonderful afternoon of music.  The Festival and performers thank you for your continued support.
